I have to ask if anyone saw the Nebraska game today, against Texas. I have seen bad coahing in high school but the job Nebraska's coach did was rediculous. Besides mistakes made through the game Nebraska was still in good shape even after they fumbled the game away. I don't know if he was disappointed or what but Texas got a 1st down around the 10 yard line with 1:04 to go and more importantly 3 time outs. After 1st down he let the clock run. Texas finally did him a favor by throwing on 3rd down. On 4th down there was :23 left in the game. After the kickoff nebraska only needed a field goal to win. They got up by mid field with :06. A throw deep a penalty on Texas and another Hail Mary and it was over. if the timeouts had been used properly there should have been around :50 left when they got the ball.
Maybe Cornhusker fans saw something I didn't but I say the coach cost them the game.
I certainly questioned the use of time outs and thought they should have been used right away rather than saving them for the offense, which I assumed he was doing. Its easier to control the clock on offense then on defense. You still cant fumble the ball with 2 minutes to go. That falls on the player regardless if it was helmet to ball.
I didn't get to see the 4th quarter of this one but there was some pretty shi*ty play calling on nebraskas part from what i saw. After callahan's meltdown in oakland crappy management at the end of the game doesn't suprise me.
Agreed. The UO coaching staff also had a terrible game plan and executed it to perfection. However, what surprised me is that the nebraska coach has pro experience and one would think he'd have learned a thing or two while there.
