Be careful not to dismiss louisville's close win against the cincinnati bearcats as a sign that they are not national championship worthy. The bearcats have played a lot of tough games close and are not as bad as people think. I hate to say it but O$U is in a class by itself right now and UC played them tough for the first three quarters on the road. It was also Brohm's first game back and with another game before the WVU game they will be ready to beat WVU thursday night november 2. And I agree that good teams should not have let downs, after the past two games against the cats, it had to be difficult for them to take UC seriously even though many people that followed the cats were not surprised they didnt get blown out. Hell it was 70-7 last time they played at Papa Juan's stadium. Surprised they had two shots at the end zone to win, yes, but not that it was close. As I predicted at the beginning, UL will beat WVU and should have a legitimate argument to play in the BCS title game.
Sorry to rain on your parade, but WV is going to choke the life out of Louisville.
Why?
Two reasons. First, Louisville has had too many unfortunate injuries to key players. Second, WV kicked the "miami hurricanes" out of a SEC BCS team last year on the road in a BCS game. Since then they've only gotten better. I think they are the second best team in the country right now.
We shall see. Im glad its on a thursday night so everyone can see what kind of football the Big East can play. It should be a doozy but dont forget it took something like 17 second half or fourth quarter points for WVU to beat Louisville AT WVU last year and that was after WVU had already made the permanent switch to Pat White. It should be a great game and either team would be a worthy national championship team if they can then when at Pitt which could be a tricky game. I still think Louisville has the better players and is better coached.
If you live in WV, sorry about that, and lock your doors and hide your couches as there will be furniture burning November 2, but not because of joy.
My boss & I disagree about WV. I think they will be undefeated this year, but I also think they are not a top 5 team. Maybe a 6-10 team. However, due to the hopelessly flawed BCS, there is also no doubt in my mind they will play in the national championship game. I wish them well.
west virginia may have set up a schedule to take a run at a national championship but it ain't gonna happen. they're going to lose to louisville and louisville is gonna lose to pitt. I have no factual data to back that up just one mans opinion
