How can Ian Johnson of Boise st. not be considered for the heisman trophy. he has 240 yards and 5 touchdowns going into the fourth quarter against oregon state. with home game against fresno state and last game of the year at nevada they could be undefeated and he could get the recognition to at least make the finals. yes i am drunk and i will always watch an entertaining college game over a boring, mundane, robotic al michaels filled NFL game. College rules over the NFL.
While i agree that ian johnson should be in the running for a heisman let's get real. A heisman winner doesn't come from boise strate they just don't vote that way anymore
I'll have to agree with 'canes. Boise State isn't going to face near the competition that the major conferences will. He's a good player, but after watching him last night, I can say he's not a great player. Also, the Heisman is (these days) given to the top offensive player from a BCS team. Boise State's schedule is so darn soft, that if they lose one game they will not deserve any BCS consideration. Heck, if they win all their games with that schedule I doubt they're worthy of BCS consideration.
i underatsnd both of your posts but not sure who else was in ladanian tomlinson's draft but who can say that LT wasnt the best player comming out that year. I dont think a requirement to be in a BCS conference is necessary. the aztecs were not. NOw oi sagree jounson would have to have a huge uyear but i know steve mcnair at mcneese st and culpepper at central florida before they were D1 were in the heisman discussion. i think ity is to early to dismiss ian johnson now. JOE C must have submitted his little post after he read mine and realized al michaels and john madden know as much as about football as a blind man since he posted his thing after my post about johnson. I AM THE AUTHORITY FOR ALL THINGS COLLEGE FOOTBALL ON THIS MESSAGE BOARD WITHOUT THE CUSSING.
