for all of you who thought that i would peacefully go away into the night after last nights embarassing display think again. The Miami hurricanes last night played the worst game i personally have ever seen them play, and yes i'm including the drubbing we got at the hands of ecu so many years ago. I can not however blame the coaching i blame the players, 5 yards of offense in the 2nd half 5 fu**ing yards that is not coaching problems that is a lack of heart by this immensely talented team. Kyle wright should be benched immediately for kirby freeman, charlie jones should never take a snap at running back again with us. and sam shields should be redshirted(I know he can't be now but obviously the young man isn't ready). Now for the plusses Kenny Phillips is the next coming of ed reed, Jon beason is a monster, Lance leggett finally figured out how to catch a ball, and all in all the defense is there but this is a team that used to average 550+ yards a game on offense until something is done about that sinking ship this team will once again be 9-3.
I agree blazer. Im sure the defenses are strong but the scoring has gone down tremendously the last few years. Its either a lack of talent and poor recruiting or poor coaching. Either way both coaches should be held accountable for that garbage of performances both teams have had between these teams and against others. If this was played by 2 mountain west schools everyone would be ripping the teams and conference. This was one of the worst games of the weekend.
it is not the fault of the coaches at least not as far as the canes are concerned. As i just said it is the fault of the players, and as far as the game i don't know what the hell everyone is expecting this is the rivalry in college football. Some years your gonna have a slugfest some years a defensive battle, some years a shootout i hope the schedulers have learned their lesson and take this off as the first primetime matchup of the year. this series deserves to be played in october just like it used to be.
One area of concern for Miami. As the game went along, FSU got better and better. The 'canes got worse & worse. The 'new' offense installed at Miami had better get on track or they could lose 4 or 5 games this year.

I see your point, HOWEVER, their offense sucks so bad, I could line up at linebacker and stop them- and I'm 50 years old. I agree with you they only have two troublesome games on paper, but scoring 10 points per game will ensure them more than 2 losses.

Well, no, of course Miami is going to do better than 10 points per game. Here's my points:
1) They got worse as the game went along. That means FSU's defense was able to key in on exactly what Miami was doing as well as Miami's lack of creative play calling.
2) The running game was quite poor. Sure, every team has an off game now & then, but Miami seemed to have some O-line studs and yet they couldn't get a RB into the FSU secondary once in the second half. They were man-handled.
3) Coker & staff have got to go back to the drawing board and really work some things out. If Miami can't do better than this against the better defenses they will face, they could end up losing some close games they have no business losing.
"immensely talented team" Not true partner !!! No running game, no wide receivers, highly overrated quarterback,totally confused Offensive line, a plethora of new asst coaches..Yeah you'll win 8 or 9 but that doesn't say much for the ACC..

Confused offense line you say well this is the first start for four of the starters, i think it will take a little time for those guys to jell i hope you watched the game tonight for thier improvement. No wide receivers you say, again i will tell you inexperience on that side Lance leggett is soon to be a star, Greg olsen is a monster all ready and there are a few guys just waiting for the reps. Our qb is overrated, in order to be that i think you have to be getting props all ready while kyle gets a few from the tards that broadcast espn football and the even bigger tards who do their pregame (my apologies herbstreit you are the exception to this rule) all the fans of the U are not sold on kyle yet and neither am i for that matter, but on the other hand we're spoiled to many years of testeverde's, dorsey's,kosar's, kelly's,walsh's, torretta's oh to go on but whatever team it is you hold sacred i dare you to put up a list of qb's like that its da canes bi*** and it always will be immensely talented is what they are so get used to it.
