We're not in the SEC, we're in the Big East and finished 11-1 last season and this season's prospects look good for the Mountaineers.

Louisville is very good but would be an 8 win team if they had to play in either the acc or the sec. and the same goes for west virginia. now i have heard ultimate stupidity, to say that miami and florida state are the most overrated programs in football history is quite possibly the dumbest thing i have ever heard and we are all now dumber for having heard it. Let us look at the national championships miami has won since 1983 the # is 5 and they should have two more on top of it but they got jobbed by the bcs in 2000 and screwed by a ref in 2002. Florida state is a perennial powerhouse who didn't finish out of the top 5 like 10 years straight. dont usually agree with canes but he is clearly right about this. miami FL and florida st definitely not overrrated. i think it is hard to come up with a program that over the years is considered overrrated. there are overrated teams each year and I agree west virginia is overrated. ive said it from the beginning louisville is cleary the better team in the big east and if they beat miami which i think they will, then they will play for the national championship as every other contender will have at least one loss. louisville goes from everyone's "it" team last year to being somewhat overlooked this year. Can anyone name a program that is truly overrated when factoring in several years and not just one or two? im sure there are a couple but i cant think of any right now.

Kind of agree with you. Tennessee did win a national championship within the last ten years and you have to remember that Florida had Ron Zook as their coach so its hard to guage them the last five years. I think the hype machine over tennessee is dying and wont have them a preseason top 15 until coach pumpkin is gone. If florida doesnt play in the BCS title game within 4 years then yes they clearly become an overrated program with all the hype around their recruits and urban meyer who i think is a pompass ass. his pop worner offense wont cut it in the sec. By the way I hate lousiville, a bunch of pricks, but they will go undefeated.

Powerhouse and FSU hardly go hand-in-hand anymore. Miami (FL) should win the nat'l title every year with all the thugs they get to play there.

But the ACC as the best conf? Please. My kid's 9 yr old football team could give Duke, Wake and North Carolina a run for their money. And MD? What've they done since Fridge got his arse blown out by Florida at the Orange Bowl.

palmeto now you have affirmed that you don't watch football at all. while you may be laughing to yourself at your wit you should know that wake forest is competitive every year in the acc they shock at least one team and always play most everyone tough. (there are exceptions to that) now i will give you duke as a team full of pansy asses but north carolina suprisingly is a team on the rise, now maryland is another team that if it would've got some breaks in the last couple of years would've had 9 win seasons. The acc has the best talent top to bottom of any conference in the country. the sec is close but with vanderbilt, mississippi, ole miss, arkansas, tennessee. sorry chief no chance of them being the best conference this year

I gotta give you some props. Tho Vandy was decent with Cutler, they will return to ultimate suckage. Tho last yr, Vandy did beat your "almost competitive Wake" team. UGa beat Ga Tech, and UF (agreed WRT overrated, and Chris Leak most OVERRATED QB in the history of the game) beat FSU. And LSU got by your Canes in the Sugar Bowl. So, while conf superiority fluctuates yr to yr, last yr, the SEC was superior to the ACC last yr.

Agree w/MD. Had halftime leads in like 7 games last yr, and lost like 5 of those games.

Clemson may be the class of the ACC this yr. Don't know about you, but I can't stand UVa or Va Tech. Miami will be there in the end. I look for them to thump FSU Labor Day.

Arkansas will be pretty decent this yr. Might pull off a surprise W in the SEC West. Ton of true freshman last yr return this yr. Listen for a dude by the name of Darren McFadden. Dude drew comparisons to Ronnie Brown and Cadillac Williams.

Miss St, Miss, will suck as much as Duke, Wake. Vandy and UK will suck as much as MD and UNC (tho you call them on the rise, I think their upset of Miami was a COMPLETE fluke)
