When will the "real media" realize that the reason for Notre Dame not joining the Big East or Big Eleven or any other conference is not about the money or tv contract but about the fear that they wont finish first. Its not about getting their own tv deal, their own bowl money, its about not having to follow other people's rules. they want to do things their way and win and not finish second or third or fourth in a conference which is fine, just dont use the fact about the amount of money they make as an independent as the reason. ITS THE FEAR OF FINSIHIHG ANYWHERE BUT FIRST (which is where they finish amongst all DI independent schools BUT NAVY is gaining ground) AGAINST ANY OTHER CONFERENCE OR SCHOOL.
