I only know of two coaches that " turned down the job" Randy shannon was the guy that i wanted all along. The greatest thing i've noticed so far is when mississippi hired sylvester croom allse i heard about for weeks at a time from the liberal all is equal institution otherwise known as espn is how progressive they were for hiring a black head coach. We promote one of our own, Hire as far as i know the first black head coach in the acc (if i'm wrong about this please correct me but i can't remember one) and there isn't word one about it. What a fuc*ing joke, but I digress shannon is a top notch recruiter and a master of defensive playcalling. Allse he needs to do now is go and get himself a top notch offensive coordinator and qb coach and wr coach and o-line coach to fix the disaster that currently calls itself our offense. If he does that we will have a 10 win team next season with a shot at the acc championship. If he doesn't we'll win 8 or 9 next year and miss the bcs bowls again
there is no way to candy coat this hire. maybe they got a decent guy but they had several people turn the job down. Miami FL is no longer the program it once was and wont be until they clean up the facilities. Miami is a second tier BCS program right now.
jesus you guys are being a little harsh don't ya think. four of our losses this year were less than 4 points. If not for the punt returner fumbling in two of those games on the final drive we probably would've won both of them. Five years out of a bcs game that's a little ridiculous, two years maybe. As much as you all may hate to admit it we are still a first tier program who just happened to have a bad year. Look at oklahoma last year, or michigan, or notre dame(oh wait they've never been a good program) Anyways with a good recruiting class this year, and the hire of a competent offensive coordinator we'll be back

Miami is the "new" New Jersey...the armpit of America
Looks like Miami had to scape the bottom of the barrel and they came up with this guy...Miami wanted to change its image...looks like they failed miserably!!! This guy is from that late 80s Miami showboat and personal foul teams...the players love this hire because now they can still dance on opposing schools logos, get flagged for as many personal foul penalties as they want, and get into fights with the opposing team. Hey its what coach's team did...the only difference is those Miami teams from the 80s were good while now, they just showboat and talk smack and get their asses kicked. This guy should be working the snack bar rather than coaching football! I think Miami should drop football and start up a hip hop label because that's all they are good for. Next week, the new coach and the "no limit playas" are going to put out a hip hop video called "Ain't nuthin' but an OB thang"
