Holy shi* is all i gotta say about the big fight yesterday as my boys from the u curb stomped some people. If you haven't seen it yet go watch it and let me know what you think. I'm not going to sit on my moral high horse and say "oh my god how could this happen" its easy to see how it happened if u watched the game. FIU was talking **** the entire first half as if they have anything to talk trash about, and in the second half they got their asses kicked. I say good for you miami for standing up for yourself and showing some god dammed heart. Its about time
It seems to me Miami players did not instigate the fight. Then again, all I have to watch is a video. I have no idea what was said on the field.
What I did see was some Miami thugs, errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, players maliciously attacking FIU players as if they were is a street brawl. Perhaps this will go down as the single most disgracfeul incident in college football history. And it comes as no surprise Miami players are front & center in all of it.
If I were the college president (instead of the liberal women who was federally indicted prior to her coming there) this is how I would dish out the minimum punishment:
1) Coker- good-by. Today.
2) Every player who left the sideline and enteted the field is suspended for the season. If it means forfeiting the remainder of the seaon- so be it!
3) Every player who particitpated in the brawl is off the team for good and any scholarship they have is revoked.
That's the bare minimum penalty. Anything less than that continues to prove out the pure and unquestionable classlessness of the Miami program.
did you just say overrated??? is that a joke. Obviously you haven't watched college football over the last say 25 years. Serious did you say???? of course i'm serious, as for that being the biggest disgrace in college football history, i think a team getting five downs to score a touchdown is a little more disgraceful than a fight. For larry coker getting fired for this??? i'm not even going to dignify that with a response. If you want to fire the guy for something ask him why our recruiting base in south florida which we used to own is going away that is something to fire him for. Certainly not for a fight that his kids didn't even start. Oh yeah i don't know if any of you know this but when you get into a fight the idea is to win not worry about hurting some fans feelings by hitting someone with a helmet.
I dont think it was appropriate to be swinging helmets or stomping on players while on the ground but I can't say its the worse thing to get into a scuffle or a fight. Once the players are down, then move on a find someone who is up and ready to fight. I love to watch hockey and enjoyed the fights before dumbass Bettmen basically outlawed fighting. When a fight occurs and one player goes to the ice, the fight is over. I agree this went over the top, but some suffles at the end of a game that is out of hand, while its not pretty and I understand some people don't like it, I am not offended and don't mind it. I enjoy watching the replay. Again I understand why some people dont like it, but I dont mind the occasional one. I dont want it every week but two or three a year are fine. Just dont use weapons like helmets, crutches or spikes. Use your fists or tackle.
a fu**ing dork who does nothing ye hath hit it right on the head, and with a screen name like you have i'm sure you don't play d&d every day of the week, as for the comparison by my man joe c to our society. I don't think i'd stretch it that far. After all most people in our society are to frightened to ever even consider getting into a fight more less a huge brawl like that. So in that respect you are correct it is fu**ing pathetic that we live in a country with a bunch of spineless politically correct dweebs.
Slurricane i would expect a response like that from a left wing liberal hippie. It's always the same with you guys instead of interjecting an idea to show me i'm wrong or state your own opinion you insult people. And you say i'm the one with a lack of intelligence
I'd bet any amount of money that da canes has never been in a fight in his life. Probably some dweeby Woody Allen type frantically typing away in front of his computer.
By you calling out Canes and questioning his toughness about never being in a fight is basically showing your lack of intelligence and counterintuitive to everyones point that fighting is the coward thing to do and not the manly thing to do. I dont agree with canes often but there is nothing wrong with a scuffle every once in awhile but this did go over the top.
Im sorry Joe C, but nothing about a football game or anyother sport resembles my daily life or work life. It is two totally different worlds. We don't let accountants, firefighters, contstruction workers or salesman get away with anything like athletes get away with. If you play sports or appear in People magazine, you get special privlidges that no one gets because we the fans and media put these people on higher levels then everyone else which is stupid. The Peyton Manning commercial when he visits "regular people" worksites and starts chanting cheers, just shows how we treat sports different than regular society and how silly it can be.

My point was that you dont even see why you are wrong. You even go so far as to brag about the fight.
I don't think you care, but I'll tell you how I feel about the whole ordeal. For now, lets forget the moral aspect.
Miami has historically been a football powerhouse. I've always enjoyed watching them play. But to fight like that on National TV just destroys the schools reputation. I think you understand pro and college football enough to understand that they are driven by money. There is a serious trickle effect. Players that come out of U of Miami typically get drafted higher than players from other schools based on reputation alone. Character is becoming as important as skill. When **** like this happens, NFL teams start to question the type of character that Miami recruits. Those players will begin to fall in the draft. The difference between a top 10 pick and a 2nd round pick is MILLIONS. Agents, parents, sponsors, and prospects are starting to catch on. Does this make you wonder why Coker cant recruit anymore????
Since I made my comments, I now have to admit my viewpoint has softened a bit. I was listening to Terry Bowden on the subject and he made some good points. He states that the Florida schools (in particular Miami & some of the lesser schools now that they no longer fully compete with FU, FSU or on a national scale) are forced to take inner city kids who have a very low education level and grew up fighting in the streets just to survive. When they feel they have been disrespected they have learned they must fight. Also, to that end, when a friend (or in this case, a team mate) is mixing it up, you go help. Period. Now, to be sure, the players have a tremendous lack of discipline and one would hope they would learn some playing college football, but Bowden's point is that these teams aren't Michigan or USC... where this type of brawl simply wouldn't happen due to the backround of the vast majority of players.
That still does not excuse what happened or the fact there needs to be just punishment, but at least I see the overall sense as to how the brawl occured.
As to the idiot who ?'s how many fights i've been into in my life. I've been in 10 lost 6 of those. As to mr. blazer prophet whose comments regularly make me pass gas i'll say this. In accordance with what the idiot terry bowden has said i suggest that he look a little bit more closely at the recruits that UF and FSU are pulling in. You talk about inner city thugs they put the canes to shame in that regard (FSU is the worst offender of this type of recruiting in florida). Coker's recruiting has nothing to do with the kids not wanting to go to miami its that he doesn't talk to them. Half of the kids in the last few years that have gone to lsu, georgia, texas and all the other ashole teams out there wanted to go to miami. If you care to disagree with me on this just check all the recruiting sites everyday. I watch all of the kids out of central dade and the rest of the schools around here, and nearly all of them have said miami is the #1 choice. But dic*head coker is to busy playing around in texas, and pa, and california to notice that's the problem its not that the kids don't want to go
After the Florida St game Canes said it was the players and not the coaches to blame as everyone else that posted said. now its "d*ckhead Coker" sounds like someone realizes he was wrong and coker is over his head. I say bring in howard schnellenberger(sp?). can be great comedy for the rest of the county.
I was talking about recruiting in said above piece. I still think he's a good game coach I just wish he'd call the offense again. As for recruiting i've always thought he was subpar because for the facts i listed above he doesn't recruit florida well at all. That is his major downfall and that's why these kids are going elsewhere

Gee, canes, no duh. Subpar recruits = idiots who take swings at other players with helmets and kick them then they're on the ground.
