as i have said all along and called this game several weeks ago, louisville has superior talent over miami and they have absolutely destroyed the canes today. an absolute ass kicking. the ACC sucks and larry coker is done. but this is not about miami or the acc but how good louisville is and now people can recognize the big east has two legitimate national title contenders though one will be eliminated when they play.
as most of us told you after the fsu game coker has to go. he is being outcoached every week and it wasnt the players not performing its that they are not as talented and not as well coached. nothin major.
It's not talent as Mialmi has more "talent". It's what's being done with the talent. Right now, Miami is playing poorly. Well below their talent level, IMHO. Maybe it's the coach. Maybe the head coordinators. Maybe they have the wrong players for the system. I can't really say. But they have more depth than a lot of teams with better records. And I'll include my Oregon Ducks in that catagory as a team with inferior talent.
blazer, you disagreeing with me that miami is still more talented is based on what recruiting analysts said about the players leaving high school. I think they were just wrong. Louisville's players are biger, stronger and faster which to me equates to superior talent. Plus Brohm was one of, if not the top rated QB comming out of high school. Miami is slipping mostly because they are not getting the football players that they used to. They still have athletes but not as talented at football skills
My opinion is that Miami is stronger on a two-deep chart. However, Louisville has the right players for the right schemes. In other words, Louisville has the right players at the right positions to get the most out of them. AND, they are so well coached.
Look at Oregon. We're 3-0 and have beaten a couple of good teams, but we've lost 13 out of 21 for the season on the 2-deep chart. Nonetheless, we have the right players on offense to fit what the coaches want to do and that allows them to pull out wins. It's not going to work every week, but so far they're where they should be.
blazer prophet you must've been smoking some of that oregon mighty blue weed or something because you actually made sense for once. The problem isn't the talent level of the players at my beloved U, its that they aren't built for the system we have (my apologies to the defense who just had a bad day). Our offensive line for example is not anything like what we've had since 1997 when edge was still around, small quick guards and centers with two giant bookend running tackles. Eric winston was a dropoff to bryant mckinnie but at least eric fit what we were trying to do. I agree wholeheartedly with that assesment and give kudos to you for bringing it up, the coaches however are not without some of the blame not only for bad assesments but for terrible game day coaching. As i said in a previous rant Louisville ran the exact same blitz 14 different times. i'm not talking something a little different it was the exact same thing DT stunt middle lb blitz right through the hole. I gave up watching it in the 4th qtr. so i don't know how many times kyle got sacked on that particular blitz but jesus christ i picked it up with 6 minutes gone in the 1st qtr. they gotta be able to do something about that and they couldn't
