I hate to say this about the venerable SEC, but it's a myth about how tough the teams are. Sure, the top few teams are plenty tough- as they are in all the major conferences. But I watched a finess team out punch yet another "tough as nails" SEC team last night (SC v. MSU). Mud-way thru the 4th, in a still winnable game, the players quit and the fans left. I remember a few years ago when the Oregon Ducks went down and punked MSU. I spoke with a couple of the UO players and they said MSU was a typical SEC team- "lots of tough talk, but once you hit back just as hard they settle down and become rather ordinary". I've heard pretty much the same thing from other teams as well.
But, it's a myth that probably won't go away soon.
Blazer i think you may be onto something with the bottom end of the sec. I fell asleep during that snoozefest called a game last night. What a piss poor performance by both teams. Props to Joe c for his update today about mr. i can't coach college football even though i'm a minority hope his as* gets fired after the season, and shame on him for showing the ad's around the country it could be a mistake to hire a black head coach.

Well, at least SEC not as weak as the PAC 10....
And ACC not shaping up as the premier league, either....
