I am certainly not an SEC fan and I know both LSU and Auburn cannot finish the season 1-2 but to me the winner of the game between those two at Auburn will win the BCS. LSU, had in my opinion, a very good quiet season. They blew the big lead in the first game after Katrina, a game they dominated and then got blown out in the SEC championship game. They are good in every position and think they can hand Auburn their only loss. I hate Ohio State but even if they get by Texas, where it will be hotter than the police on Maurice Clarrett leaving a 7-11, they still have to play at Iowa and against Michigan though Lloyd Carr probably would go 5-6 with Vince Young. Notre Dame, don't believe the hype as how will they play when they are supposed to win every game, a situation they havent faced in over 15 years. I really like Nevada. A lot of "experts" pick them to finish third in the WAC because of their tough schedule. After they beat Fresno St in the opener, as Fresno cant win the big conference game their toughest game will be at Hawaii, a sleeper this year, and they get Boise St at home and BSU struggles mightily on the road. It is a wide open year and should be fun to watch. I dont see how anyone can have a strong opinion
Well, I can definitely have a strong opinion that Nevada won't even be close to a top five team! There is a strong argument that they won't even win the WAC... I know I'm not going out on a limb, but Texas and USC will be very strong, even with losing some guys. They have some great coaching and get the best recruiting classes year after year. You probably live in Reno, so I'll give you some credit for sticking with the home team, but then again, let's be real here.
actually I live in Cincinnati and have all of my life except for four years in the state of north carolina for college. Big bearcat fan. Nevada is solid and I respect your opinion but we will just have to wait and see, which is whats great about this college football season. It is wide freakin open.
Im not really sure why everyone thinks West Virgina is so much better than everyone else in the Big East. Realize it took a major comeback and OT to beat Louisville AT West Virginia. Louisville will be ready for them and Louisville has by far the best QB in the league and probably top 5 in the country in Brohm. They may not go undefeated but they will be WVU to win the Big East and will then win their BCS game.
palmetto i don't understand how you can have notre dame in your top 5 they're going to win 9 games at best. Get ready for the first loss this saturday night at the under rated georgia tech house. Ohio state has two losses on the schedule all ready with texas and iowa. Louisville is a good team but they're going to lose to miami and then beat west virginia. Usc is losing to cal. Oh fuc* it go on say it the best team its da canes bi***, with auburn a close 2nd and lsu not far behind them
WRT to Ga Tech/ND...agree that ND is in for a donny-brook of a game. But ND more consistent on O...Ga Tech D solid, but I think ND will score enough to win....they go undefeated in Sept, they will cruise to the national title game....
my take on michigan and ohio state, oh boy normally i'd rip these two pansy as* programs to shreds but i'm in a good mood tonight. First Michigan as you may have noticed i started a column on this particular programs head coach, personally i think they'll get off lucky if they only lose three games. Ohio state on the other hand as much as i hate to admit it will be decent this year. (when saying decent i only see two definite losses on their schedule instead of the 12 i'd usually say) they'll end up probably second in the big ten with michigan probably 4th
